Management TeamTom WaskowSenior Vice President of Strategic DevelopmentThomas Waskow is a key contributor to Swan Island’s strategic planning and execution, particularly in the military and government sectors. He joined the company in 2005, immediately after retiring from the USAF in April 2005 as Commander, U.S. Forces Japan, and Commander, 5th Air Force, Yokota Air Base, Japan. Gen. Waskow also directed the protection of the Hawaiian airspace during the September 11th attacks and was a key force provider during Operation Unified Assistance in response to the 2005 Indian Ocean tsunami. He contributed extensively to Deny Flight and Silver Wake in the Balkans; Noble Eagle in Hawaii in 2001; and the Peace Keeping Operations in East Timor. Waskow has nearly 5,000 flight hours, including 904 combat hours. He has flown all models and variants of the air-to-air F-15. During the Vietnam War, he flew 282 combat missions over South Vietnam and Cambodia. Waskow holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs and a Masters degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University. He also was a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard and a Seminar XXI Fellow at MIT.
