for Safety and Security
New “virtual watch center” delivers critical information where and when it’s needed; from reactive to proactive risk management

Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security gives both government agencies and civilian enterprises a new way to leverage the power of real-time data, video, voice convergence for physical security. As an integrated IT infrastructure that has been “opened” to best-of-breed security vendors such as Swan Island Networks, this new system supports a path to continuous innovation, while helping customers improve emergency preparedness, increase employee safety and security, and enhance overall operational resiliency.
“We are pleased to be working with Swan Island Networks as part of our go-to-market team for the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security,” said Bruce Klein, Cisco's federal vice president. “Our strategy is to pull together an ‘ecosystem’ of the leading companies with expertise in protecting citizens, employees and critical assets to provide the most comprehensive solution for facilitating collaboration for government agencies. Swan Island Networks delivers a critical piece of our overall technology platform.”
TIES®, Swan Island’s software-as-a-service solution, plays a key role in the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security. TIES provides a managed service to trusted groups of security professionals through a “virtual command center”, available 7x24, and accessible almost anywhere (via a PC or mobile device). It does this by mashing up open-source and proprietary information from thousands of sources, filtering this data for relevance, and presenting it in configurable dashboards. With TIES, you can track breaking incidents happening down the street, or around the world.
“We’re honored and excited to be a part of this important new Cisco solution,” said Swan Island Networks’ CEO Charles Jennings. “Demand is growing for real-time situational awareness to support risk management, physical security and business continuity needs—and we believe the integration of TIES and Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security takes security awareness to a new level.”
