Connect & Protect

Swan Island Networks’ Connect & Protect is a program linking public and private organizations in geographic Communities of Trust. Connect & Protect enables government agencies, schools and private sector organizations to share sensitive information before, during, and after emergencies.

Launched in August 2003, Connect & Protect provides the ability to share sensitive information from an emergency operations center (EOC) to schools, emergency responders, critical infrastructure and other public safety stakeholders.

The program is a scalable, affordable model that can be deployed in any city or rural region worldwide. It combines local command-and-control elements with highly targeted, localized information distribution functions.

The Connect & Protect program was a finalist for the inaugural Mitretek Innovations Award in Homeland Security from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
